It was band’s first concept album, with mixture of classical and rock elements, and is widely regarded as one of the first progressive rock albums at all.

On October 5, 2012, “Modular Recordings” label released “Lonerism” the second  Tame Impala studio album. It was recorded 2010–2012, at Perth, Australia and in Paris, and was produced by Kevin Parker. In November 2012, “Lonerism” won the 2012 “J Award” for Australian “Album of the Year”. In 2013 tame Impala won the “Rolling Stone Australia” award for “2012 Album of the Year”. The album was certified Platinum in Australia by “ARIIA”.
