Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel: The Best Years Of Our Lives

In March 1975, “EMI” label released “The Best Years of Our Lives”, the third Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel album. It was recorded November-December 1974, and was produced by Alan Parsons and Steve Harley. “The Best Years of Our Lives” was the first album that featured Harley’s name ahead of the band’s name band Cockney Rebel.

On June 2, 1974, “EMI” label released “The Psychomodo”, the second  Cockney Rebel studio album. It was recorded February – March 1974, at “Morgan Studios”, “Nova Sound Studios” and “Air Studios” in London, and was produced by Alan Parsons and Steve Harley.

On March 8, 1974, “Parlaphone” label released “Queen II”, the second Queen studio album. It was recorded in August 1973, at “Trident Studios” in London, and was produced by Roy Thomas Baker, Robin Geoffrey Cable, Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon. The cover photography was by Mick Rock. In the 1994 edition of “The Guinness All Time Top 1000 Albums”, “Queen II” was voted number 202. In 2005, “Kerrang!” magazine readers voted “Queen II” the 72nd greatest British rock album ever. In 2006, the album was featured in “Classic Rock and Metal Hammer’s “The 200 Greatest Albums of the 70s.”

On January 3, 1970, “Harvest” label released “The Madcap Laughs”, the debut Syd Barrett solo album.  It was recorded May 1968 – August 1969, at the “Abbey Road Studios” in London, and was produced by Syd Barrett, Peter Jenner, Malcolm Jones, David Gilmour and Roger Waters.
