Palle Danielsson

On May 18, 2024, Nils Paul “Palle” Danielsson died aged 77. He was musician (double bass), recorded and performed with many famous Jazz musicians, among the others with Peter Erskine, Lennart Aberg, Jan Garbarek, Lee Konitz, Karin Krog, Christof Lauer, Charles Lloyd, Michael Petrucciani, John Taylor, Enrico Rava, Geri Allen, Bill Evans, Richard Galliano, Barre Phillips, Dino Saluzzi, Tomasz Stanko, Edward Vesala, Colin Walcott and Keith Jarrett. As leader he released five albums.

Jon Christensen

On February 18, 2020, Jon Ivar Christensen died aged 76. He was musician (drums) and composer, one of the most respected European Jazz drummers. He has recorded with artists such as Keith Jarrett, Jan Garbarek, Enrico Rava, Palle Danielsson, John Abercrombie, Michael Mantler, Miroslav Vitous, Terje Rypdal, Bobo Stenson, Eberhard Weber, Ralph Towner, Barre Phillips, Arild Andersen, Rainer Brüninghaus, Charles Lloyd, Dino Saluzzi, George Russell, John Clark, David Friedman, David Darling, Steve Kuhn, Lee Konitz, Pony Poindexter, Phil Woods, Leo Wright, Yelena Eckemoff and Tomasz Stanko.

Gong: Magick Brother

In March 1970, “BYG Actuel” label released “Magick Brother”, the debut Gong studio album. It was recorded September- October 1969, at “Studio Eta” and “Studio Europa Sonor” in Paris, and was produced by Jean Georgakarakos and Jean-Luc Young.

Paul Bley

On January 3, 2016, Hyman Paul Bley died aged 83. He was musician   (piano) and composer, one of the most important figures of the free jazz movement of the 60s and for his innovations and influence on trio playing.
