Oasis: (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?

On October 2, 1995, “Creation Records” label released “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” the second Oasis studio album. It was recorded March 1995, May–June 1995, at “Rockfield Studios” in Monmouth, Wales, and was produced by Owen Morris and Noel Gallagher. At the 2010 “Brit Awards”, “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” was named the greatest British album since 1980. In 2012, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 378 on its list of the “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. The album was certified 8 x Platinum in Australia by “ARIA”; 6 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; Platinum in France by “SNEP”; 6 x Platinum in Ireland by “IRMA”; Platinum in Italy by “FIMI”; Platinum in Japan by “RIAJ”; Platinum in New Zealand by “RMNZ”; Platinum in Norway by “IFPI Norway”; 2 x Platinum in Spain by “PROMUSICAE”; Platinum in Sweden by “GLF”; 14 x Platinum in UK by “BPI”, and  4 x Platinum in the US by “RIIA”.

On August 21, 1997, “Creation Records” label released “Be Here Now”, the third Oasis studio album. It was recorded October 1996 – April 1997, at “Abbey Road Studios”; “AIR Studios”; “Orinoco Studios” and “Master Rockin” in London; “Ridge Farm” in Surrey, and was produced by Owen Morris and Noel Gallagher. On the first day of release, “Be Here Now” sold over 424,000 copies, becoming the fastest-selling album in British chart history. The album was certified Platinum in Australia by the “ARIIA”; 2 x Platinum in Canada by “Music Canada”; 2 x Platinum in Japan by “RIAJ”; Platinum in Spain by “PROMUSICAE”; Platinum in Sweden by “GLF”; 6 x Platinum in UK by the “BPI”, and Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.

On August 15, 1983, “Albert” label released “Flick of the Switch“, the tenth AC/DC album. It was recorded in April 1983, at “Compass Point Studios” in Nassau, Bahamas, and was produced by Brian Johnson, Angus Young, Malcolm Young, Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd. The album was certified 3 x Platinum in Australia by the “ARIIA” and Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.

On July 25, 1980, “Albert / Atlantic” labels released “Back in Black”, the seventh  AC/DC studio album. It was recorded April–May 1980, at “Compass Point Studios” in Nassau, Bahamas, and was produced by Robert John “Mutt” Lange. The album’s all-black cover was designed as a “sign of mourning” for band’s original singer Bon Scott, who died in 1980. “Back in Black” was huge commercial success; it has sold more than 50 million copies worldwide, becoming the the second-highest-selling album in history. “Back in Black” was certified Platinum in Argentina by “CAPIF”; 12 x Platinum in Australia by “ARIIA”; Platinum in Austria by “IFPI”; Diamond in Canada by “Music Canada”; 2 x Platinum in France by “SNEP”; 2 x Platinum in Germany by “BVMI”; Platinum in Italy by “FIMI”; 2 x Platinum in Switzerland by “IFPI”; Platinum in UK by “BPI” and 22 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.
