Laura Marling: Short Movie

Ornette Coleman: The Shape of Jazz to Come

In November 1959, “Atlantic” label released “The Shape of Jazz to Come”, the third Ornette Coleman album. It was recorded in May 1959, at “Radio Recorders” in Hollywood, and was produced by Nesuhi Ertegun. In 2012, the “Library of Congress” added the album to the “National Recording Registry”. Magazine “Rolling Stone” included the album in its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. In 2015, the album was inducted into the “Grammy Hall of Fame”.

Steve Mackay

On October 10, 2015, Steve Mackay died aged 66. He was musician (saxophone), recorded and performed with Violent Femmes, Snakefinger, Commander Cody, Zu, Andre Williams, Smegma, Van Rozay, Estel, Clubfoot Orchestra, Carnal Kitchen Band, The Mojo Boogie Band and Moonlighters, but was best known for his membership in The Stooges. As leader Mackay released three albums.

Gary Richard

On September 13, 2015, Gary Dean Richard died aged 65. He was musician (guitar, slide guitar), singer, songwriter and producer, member of the band Suburban 9 to 5, but was best known as the lead guitarist and songwriter of REO Speedwagon (1970 – 1989). As leader, Richard released one album.

Tigran Hamasyan: Luys i Luso

On September 4, 2015, “ECM” label released “Luys i Luso”, the seventh Tigran Hamasyan album. It was recorded October 2014, and was produced by Manfred Eicher. The album was released to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Armenian genocide.
