On April 17, 2001, “Kill Rock Stars” label released “Leaves Turn Inside You”, the eighth and final Unwound studio album. It was recorded in 2000, at “MagRecOne” in Olympia, Washington, and was produced by Phil Ek, Justin Trosper, Sara Lund and Vern Rumsey.

On March 20, 2002, “GrOb Records” label released “Звездопад”, the 20th Гражданская Оборона album. It was recorded August – November 2001; track “Fog” was recorded on December 14, 2003, at Yegor Letov concert in Barnaul;  track “The Sun Will Rise” was recorded on April 29, 2004, at a concert in the “Palace of Culture” in Moscow, and was produced by Yegor Letov. The cover design features works by Romanian naivist painter Mihai Dascalu  and Croatian naivist painter Ivan Generalich
