Its Only Rock n Roll

On October 16, 1974, “Rolling Stones Records” label released “It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll” , the twelfth Rolling Stones studio album. It was recorded  November – December 1972; November 1973; January – May 1974, and was produced by The Glimmer Twins. The album marked the 10th anniversary of the band’s debut album and was the last Rolling Stones album with Mick Taylor.

On October 6, 1974, “Island” label release “Red”, the seventh King Crimson studio album. It was recorded live on June 30 1974, at the “Palace Theater”, in Providence, and July – August 1974, at the “Olympic Studios”, in London , and was produced by Robert Fripp, John Wetton, Bill Bruford, David Cross, and Mel Collins..

On October 1, 1974, “Island“ label released “Fear”, the fourth John Cale studio album. It was recorded in 1974, at the “Sound Techniques”, and “Olympic Studios” in London, and was produced by John Cale.

Robbie McIntosh

On September 23, 1974, Robert Broderick James ‘Robbie’ McIntosh died aged 24. He was musician (drums), in the late 60’  member of the bands The Senate and Brian Auger’s Oblivion Express,  but he is best known as a founding member and drummer of The Average White Band.

On September 13, 1972, “Atlantic” label released “Close to the Edge”, the fifth Yes studio album. . It was recorded at the “Advison Studios” in London, and was produced by Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Chris Squire,  Rick Wakeman, Bill Bruford and Eddy Offord.
