On October 20, 1998, “MCA” label released “Blues on the Bayou”, the thirty sixth B.B. King studio album. It was recorded in 1998, at “Dockside Studio” in Maurice, LA, and was produced by B. B. King. “Blues on the Bayou” won the 2000 “Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album”.

On October 19, 1995, Donald Eugene Cherry died aged 58. He was a musician (trumpet), one of the pioneers in world fusion in the 60s and 70s. The second session was recorded in March 1959, at the “Van Gelder Studio” in Hackensack, NJ, and was recorded by Rudy Van Gelder. The album was produced by Alfred Lion.
