Sun’s Signature: Same

On June 18, 2022, “Partisan Records” label released the self-titled Sun’s Signature EP. It was limited on 8000 copies worldwide.

Stan Getz & João Gilberto: Getz / Gilberto

In March 1964, “Verve” label released “Getz / Gilberto”, album by Stan Getz and João Gilberto. It was recorded in March 1963, at “A&R Recording Studios” in New York City, and was produced by Creed Taylor. The artwork was by artist Olga Albizu. In 1965, “Getz/Gilberto” received “Grammy Awards” for “Best Jazz Instrumental Album”, “Individual or Group and Best Engineered Recording – Non-Classical;” and “Album of the Year”. It is considered to be the album that popularized bossa nova worldwide. In 2012, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 447 on its list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

Lou Rawls

On December 6, 2006, Louis Allen Rawls died aged 92. He was singer, actor, voice actor, songwriter, and music producer, known for his singing ability, winner of three “Grammy Awards”, all for “Best Male R&B Vocal Performance”. He released more than 60 albums, and sold more than 40 million records worldwide.

Soundgarden: Superunknown

Superunknown

On March 8, 1994, “A&M” label released “Superunknown”, the fourth Soundgarden album. It was recorded July – September 1993, at “Bad Animals Studio” in Seattle, and was produced by Michael Beinhorn, Chris Cornell, Kim Thayll, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron.  “Superunknown” was certified 5 x Platinum in US by the “RIAA”. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked it at number 336 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time” and at number 38 on magazine’s list of the “100 Greatest Albums of the Nineties”. “Kerrang” magazine listed “Superunknown” in its list of “100 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die”.

On September 24, 1991, “DGC” label released “Nevermind” the second Nirvana studio album.  It was recorded in 1991, at “Sound City Studios”, in Van Nuys, and “Smart Studios”,in Madison, and was produced by Butch Vig. The album was certified Diamond in the US by the “RIIA”. “Nevermind” has sold over 30 million copies worldwide.
