On November 7, 1972, “Atlantic” label released “The Divine Miss M”, the debut Bette Midler studio album. It was recorded 1971 – 1972, at “Atlantic Recording Studios” in New York City, and was produced by Ahmet Ertegun, Barry Manilow. Geoffrey Haslam and Joel Dorn. The album was certified Platinum in US and Canada.

On August 13, 2021, Nanci Caroline Griffith died aged 68. She was musician (guitar), singer and songwriter, toured and recorded with The Crickets, John Prine, Iris DeMent, Suzy Bogguss, Judy Collins, Emmylou Harris, Mary Black, John Prine, Don McLean, Jimmy Buffett, Dolores Keane, Willie Nelson, Adam Duritz, The Chieftains, John Stewart, Darius Rucker and Buddy Holly’s band. In 1994, Griffith won “Grammy Award” for “Best Contemporary Folk Album”, in 1995, she was awarded the “Kate Wolf Memorial Award” by the “World Folk Music Association”, and in 2008, the “Americana Music Association” awarded her its “Americana Trailblazer Award”. Griffith released 18th studio and 2 live albums.

On January 15, 1992, David Murray Oates aka Dee Murray died aged 45. He was musician (bass), was member, recorded and performed with The Mirage, Spencer Davis Group, Elton John, Procol Harum, Alice Cooper, Beth Nielsen Chapman, John Prine, Jimmy Webb, Yvonne Elliman, Ronnie Hawkins, Shaun Cassidy, Bernie Taupin, Brian Cadd, but was best known as the bass player of the Elton John Band.

On April 23, 2012, John Christopher “Chris” Ethridge died aged 65. He was musician (bass, piano), member of International Submarine Band and The Flying Burrito Brothers. He has worked with Gram Parsons, Nancy Sinatra, Judy Collins, Leon Russell, Delaney Bramlett, Bill Withers, Johnny Winter, Randy Newman, Ry Cooder, Linda Ronstadt, Gene Clark, The Byrds, John Prine, Johnny Rivers, Jackson Browne, Arlo Guthrie, The Doors, Graham Nash and Willie Nelson.

On April 7, 2020, John Prine died aged 73. He was singer – songwriter and musician (guitar), known for his music that has elements of protest and social commentary. His song “Sam Stone” stands as a reference to the phenomenon of heroin  or morphine  addiction among Vietnam war veterans. During 2005 at the request of U.S. poet laureate Ted Kooser, John Prine became the first singer – songwriter to read and perform at the Library of Congress. Prine won two “Grammy Awards” and recorded eighteen albums.
