On August 5, 2022, Michael Anthony Lang died aged 80. Dizzy Gillespie
On January 6, 1993, John Birks “Dizzy” Gillespie died aged 75. He was musician (trumpet), singer, composer and bandleader, trumpet virtuoso and improviser, regarded as one of the greatest jazz trumpeters of all time. Together with Charlie Parker, Gillespie was major figure in the development of bebop and modern jazz. Lou Reed: The Raven
On January 28, 2003, “Sire” label released “The Raven”, the nineteenth Lou Reed album. It was recorded in 2002, and was produced by Hal Willner and Lou Reed. “The Raven” is concept album recounting the short stories and poems of Edgar Allan Poe through word and song. The album also features new versions of two of Lou Reed’s songs, “The Bed” and “Perfect Day”.
