Augie March: Moo, You Bloody Choir

On March 11, 2006, “Sony BMG Australia” label released “Moo, You Bloody Choir”, the third Augie March studio album. It was recorded November 2004 – June 2005, at “Sing Sing” and “Woodstock Studios” in Melbourne, “Hyde Street Studios” in San Francisco, “Second World Studios” in Victoria, and was produced by Eric Drew Feldman, Paul McKercher, Glenn Richards, Edmondo Ammendola, Adam Donovan, Kiernan Box and David Williams.

On June 30, 1986, “Sire” label released “True Blue”, the third Madonna studio album. It was recorded December 1985–April 1986, at “Channel Recording Studios” in Los Angeles, and was produced by Madonna, Stephen Bray and Patrick Leonard. “True Blue” was global commercial success, reaching number one in record-breaking 28 countries worldwide, spending 34 consecutive weeks at the top of the “European Top 100 Albums” chart, longer than any other album in history. It became the world’s top-selling album of 1986,and the best-selling album of the 1980s by a female artist. In 1986, as recognition of her impact on the popular culture, Madonna became the first female artist to receive the “Video Vanguard Award” at the 1986 “MTV Video Music Awards”.

On November 30, 1982, “Epic” label released “Thriller”, the sixth Michael Jackson studio album.  It was recorded April – November 1982, at the “Westlake Recording Studios” in Los Angeles, and was produced by Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson. With more than 65 million copies sold worldwide“Thriller” is the best selling album of all time. In 1984, the album won a record eight “Grammy Awards”, including “Album of the Year” award. In 2003 magazine “Rolling Stone” ranked “Thriller” on number 20 on its list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. “The National Association of Recording Merchandisers” ranked “Thriller” at number three in its “Definitive 200” albums of all time. The album was included in the “Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry” of culturally significant recordings. In 2012, magazine “Slant” ranked “Thriller” at number one on its list of “Best Albums of the 1980”.
