On May 9, 2005, “Voiceprint Records” label released “Ilhas”, the fourth Violeta de Outono album. It was recorded in 2003, and was produced by Fabio Golfetti and Angelo Pastorello.

In January 1969, “Transatlantic” label released “Birthday Blues”, the sixth Bert Jansch album. It was recorded October – November 1968, at “IBC Studios” in London, and was produced by Shel Talmy.

Etta James

On January 20, 2012, Jamesetta Hawkins aka Etta James died aged 73. She was singer with powerful voice, performing blues, R&B, soul,  jazz and gospel music  She won six “Grammy Awards” and 17 “Blues Music Awards”; In 1993, she was inducted into the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame”, in 1999 she was inducted in “Grammy Hall of Fame”, and in 2011 in the “Blues Hall of Fame”. “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked Etta James at number 22 on its list of the “100 Greatest Singers of All Time”.

On March 16, 2017, James Henry Cotton died aged 81. He was musician (harmonica), singer and songwriter, had a successful solo career, recording albums under his own name, and recording and performing with number of great blues and rock musicians including Gregg Allman, William “Billy Boy” Arnold, Elvin Bishop, Mike Bloomfield, Joe Bonamassa, Paul Butterfield, Grateful Dead, Pat Hare, Howlin’ Wolf, Janis Joplin, B.B. King, Freddie King, Alexis Korner, Steve Miller, Charlie Musselwhite, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Keith Richards, Todd Rundgren, Santana, Willie “Big Eyes” Smith, Otis Spann, Taj Mahal, Big Mama Thornton, Jimmie Vaughan, Joe Louis Walker, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson and Johnny Winter.

Koko Taylor

On June 3, 2009, Cora Walton aka Koko Taylor died aged 80. She was blues singer, known by powerful and rough vocal, performing rhythm and blues, Chicago Blues and blues. Often called “The Queen of Blues”, for her work she received number of awards including:

  • In 1985, Grammy Awardfor Best Traditional Blues Album
  • In 1996, Howlin’ Wolf Award
  • In 1997, inducted in the Blues Hall of Fame
  • In 1999, Blues Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award
  • In 2004, NEA National Heritage Fellowship
  • 24 times the Blues Music Award in the following categories:
  • Female Artist
  • Traditional Blues Female Artist
  • Vocalist of the Year
  • Contemporary Blues Female Artist
  • Entertainer of the Year

Albert Collins

On November 24, 1993, Albert Collins died aged 60. He was musician (guitar) and singer, best known for his distinctive, powerful guitar style, which gained him the title “The Master of the Telecaster”. From his first album “The Cool Sounds of Albert Collins” in 1965 till “Iceman” from 1991, Collins has released ten studio and nine live albums.

Bobby Bland

On June 23, 2013, Robert Calvin “Bobby” Bland died aged 73. He was singer, created his own recognizable sound, mixture of gospel, blues and R&B. Referred to as “lion of the blues” and “among the great storytellers of blues and soul music”, he was inducted into the “Blues Hall of Fame” in 1981, the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” in 1992, and received the “Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award” in 1997.
