On July 6, 2020, Charles Edward Daniels died aged 83. He was a singer, songwriter, and musician (fiddle, guitar), active since the 1950s. For his contribution to Southern rock, country, and bluegrass music, Daniels was inducted into the “Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame” in 2002, the “Grand Ole Opry” in 2008, the “Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum” in 2009, and the “Country Music Hall of Fame” in 2016.

Scotty Moore
On June 28, 2016, Winfield Scott “Scotty” Moore III died aged 84. He was a musician (guitar) and recording engineer, performed with Starlight Wranglers, Ricky Nelson, and Roy Orbison, but was best known as a founding member of The Blue Moon Boys in 1954, Elvis Presley’s backing band, and as studio and touring guitarist for Presley between 1954 and 1968. In its list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked Moore at number 29. In the year 2000, he was inducted into the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame”, in 2007 in the “Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum”, and in 2015, in the “Memphis Music Hall of Fame”.
Big Big Train: The Second Brightest Star
On June 23, 2017, “English Electric” label released “The Second Brightest Star”, the eleventh Big Big Train album. It was recorded 2016 – 2017, at “English Electric Studios”, “Aubitt Studios”, “Real World Studios”, “Sweetwater Studios”, “Ashwood Studios”, and was produced by Nick D’Virgilio, Dave Gregory, Rachel Hall, David Longdon, Danny Manners, Andy Poole, Rikard Sjöblom, and Greg Spawton. “The Second Brightest Star” contains a mix of new songs along with re-worked material from the band’s previous two albums, “Folklore” and “Grimspound”.

David Swarbrick
On June 3, 2016, David Cyril Eric Swarbrick died aged 75. He was singer-songwriter and musician (violin, viola, mandolin, guitar), one of the most highly regarded musicians from the second British folk revival, contributing to some of the most important groups and projects of the 1960s. He has worked with Ian Campbell Folk Group, Martin Carthy, Whippersnapper and Swarb’s Lazarus, but was best known for his work with Fairport Convention. Swarbrick recorded thirteen albums as a leader.
