On November 8, 1974, “Vertigo” label released “Nightlife”, the fourth Thin Lizzy studio album. It was recorded April – October 1974, and was produced by Ron Nevison and Phil Lynott. The album cover was designed by Jim Fitzpatrick.

Lester Bowie

On November 8, 1999, Lester Bowie died aged 58. He was musician (trumpet) and composer, best known as co-founder and member of one of the most important groups in jazz history, “Art Ensemble of Chicago”. He was a also member of the” Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians”, “Lester Bowie’s Brass Fantasy”, “The Leaders” and “Lester Bowie’s Organ Ensemble”. In his career Bowie has performed and recorded with many big names of the popular and jazz music, among them  Archie Shepp,David Murray, Jack DeJohnette, Fela Kuti, Kahil El’Zabar, Defunkt, David Bowie, Sunny Murray, Chico Freeman, Arthur Blythe, Kirk Lightsey, Cecil McBee, James Carter, Brigitte Fontaine, Melvin Jackson, Wadada Leo Smith, Jimmy Lyons, Little Milton, Albert King, Solomon Burke, Joe Tex and Rufus Thomas.

It was recorded July – September 1974, at the at “AIR”, ”Rockfield”, “Trident Studios” and “Wessex Sound” studios, and was produced by Roy Thomas Baker, Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon.

On November 8, 1971, “Atlantic” label released the untitled, fourth Led Zeppelin studio album, known as “Led Zeppelin IV”.  It was recorded December 1970 – March 1971 at the  Victorian  House  “Headley Grange”, in Hampshire, and was produced by Jimmy Page. The album was certified 23 x Platinum in US by the “RIAA” and with more than 37 million sold copies worldwide, it became one of the best selling music albums ever. Magazine “Rolling Stone” ranked “Led Zeppelin IV” on number 69 on it’s list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.
