Aimee Mann: Mental Illness
On March 31, 2017, “SuperEgo” label released “Mental Illness”, the ninth Aimee Mann studio album. It was recorded in 2017, and was produced by Paul Bryan. On January 28, 2018, the album won “Grammy Award” for “Best Folk Album”.

Gary Burden
On March 10, 2018, Gary Burden died aged 84. He was artist specialized in design of music album covers, considered as one of the pioneers of the concept of album cover art. He created covers for many famous music acts including The Doors, Neil Young, Mama Cass, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Joni Mitchell, The Eagles, Jackson Browne and Matt Corby. In 2000, together with the photographer Henry Diltz, he made “California Rock: Under the Covers”, a documentary about their mutual work on album covers and participation in the Los Angeles music scene.In 2010, at the 52nd “Annual Grammy Awards”, Burden won the award for “Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Packaging” for the Neil Young “The Archives Vol. 1 1963–1972”.
Russell Solomon
On March 4, 2018, Russell M. Solomon died aged 93. He was entrepreneur and art collector, best known as the founder of the worldwide music store empire “Tower Records”.
Johann Johannsson
On February 9, 2018, Jóhann Jóhannsson died aged 48. He was composer who was composing music for theatre, dance, TV and movies. Some of his movie works include original scores for “Personal Effects” by David Hollander, “For Ellen” by So Yong Kim, “McCanick” by John C. Waller, “Prisoners” by Denis Villeneuve, Sicario by Denis Villeneuve, “Arrival” by Denis Villeneuve, “The Mercy” by James Marsh and “Mary Magdalene” by Garth Davis. For the score for James Marsh’s “The Theory of Everything”, Jóhannsson won a “Golden Globe” for “Best Original Score”. In the period 2002 – 2016, he released nine solo albums.
Dennis Edwards
On February 2, 2018, Dennis Edwards died aged 74. He was singer and musician (piano), member of The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Dennis Edwards and the Fireballs, The Contours, but was best known as lead singer in The Temptations. Edwards was leading vocal on some of the group’s biggest hits including “I Can’t Get Next to You”, “Ball of Confusion” and “Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone”. In the period between 1984 -1993, Edwards released three solo albums.
Hugh Masekela
On January 23, 2018, Hugh Ramopolo Masekela died aged 78. He was musician (trumpet, flugelhorn, cornet), singer and composer, known as “Father of South African Jazz.” As leader Masekela released 49 albums, and received many awards, including:

- 2002 – BBC Radio Jazz Awards: International Award of the Year
- 2005 – Channel O Music Video Awards: Lifetime Achievement Award
- 2007 – Ghana Music Awards: 2007 African Music Legend Award

Jim Rodford
On January 20, 2018, Jim Rodford died aged 76. He was musician (bass), member of bands Mike Cotton Sound, The Zombies, and founding member of Argent, but best known as the bass player of The Kinks.
Dolores O’Riordan
On January 15, 2018, Dolores Mary Eileen O’Riordan died aged 46. She was singer, songwriter and musician (guitar, bass, and keyboards), best known as vocalist and leader of The Cranberries. She released seven studio albums with The Cranberries, two solo albums: Are You Listening? (2007) and No Baggage (2009). In 2016 as member of the band D.A.R.K. she released the album Science Agrees.
Fast Eddie Clarke
On January 10, 2018, Edward Allan Clarke aka “Fast” Eddie Clarke, died aged 67. He was guitarist, member of the bands The Bitter End, Zeus, Continuous Performance, best known as guitarist of Motorhead.
