On September 24, 1991, “DGC” label released “Nevermind” the second Nirvana studio album.  It was recorded in 1991, at “Sound City Studios”, in Van Nuys, and “Smart Studios”,in Madison, and was produced by Butch Vig. The album was certified Diamond in the US by the “RIIA”. “Nevermind” has sold over 30 million copies worldwide.

Smells Like Teen Spirit

Nirvana

On August 17, 1991, Nirvana shot the video clip for the song “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. The shooting that included Nirvana fans as audience took place at GMT Studios in Culver City, California. The cost of the video production was less than $50,000 and the video won Nirvana the Best New Artist and Best Alternative Group awards at the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards. In year 2000, the Guinness World Records named “Smells like teen spirit” the “Most Played Video” on MTV Europe.
