David Williams

On March 6, 2009, David Williams died aged 58. He was musician (guitar, bass guitar), vocalist, song writer and music producer, known as a prominent and most in demand session guitarist. He worked with The Dells, The Temptations, Madonna, Michael Jackson,  Chanson, The Pointer Sisters, Peter Allen, Aretha Franklin, The Four Tops, Julio Iglesias, George Benson, The Manhattan Transfer, Michael McDonald, Melissa Manchester, Stevie Nicks, Rod Stewart, Dionne Warwick, Shalamar, Go West, ABC, Boz Scaggs, Karen Carpenter, Mariah Carey, Julian Lennon, Bryan Ferry, Paul McCartney, Johnny Mathis, Del Shannon, Chaka Khan, Paul Hardcastle, Kenny Loggins, Steve Perry, Lionel Richie, Jessica Simpson, Diana Ross, the Crusaders, Andraé Crouch, Eddie Murphy, Herbie Hancock, Peter Cetera, Whitney Houston and Monkey Business. As leader he released two albums.

Howard Epstein

On February 23, 2003, Howard Norman Epstein died aged 47. He was musician (bass), member of the bands MHB Experience, Egz, Winks, Forearm Smash, and The Craze. He also worked with Bob Dylan, Blue Stingrays, Del Shannon, Stevie Nicks, Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash, but was best known as the bass player with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Discovery

On May 31, 1979, “Jet” label released “Discovery”, the eighth Electric Light Orchestra studio album. It was recorded March–April 1978, at “Musicland Studios” in Munich, and was produced by Jeff Lynne. The album was certified 2 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”.

On April 24, 1989, “MCA” label released “Full Moon Fever”, the first solo Tom Petty album. It was recorded 1988–1989, at “M.C. Studios”, “Rumbo Studios”, “Sunset Sound”, “Devonshire Studios”, “Conway Studios” and “Sound City Studios”, and was produced by Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty and Mike Campbell. The album was certified 5× platinum in the US by the “RIIA”, and 6× platinum in Canada. “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Full Moon River” at number 92 on its list of the “100 best albums of the 1980s”.
