Katie Noonan & Karin Schaupp: Songs of the Latin Skies

On February 17, 2017, “Kin Music” label released “Songs of the Latin Skies”, the third Katie Noonan and Karin Schaupp collaborative album. It was recorded in 2016 and was produced by Katie Noonan and Karin Schaupp. In 2017 the album won “ARIA Award for Best World Music Album”.

Steamchicken: Look Both Ways

On March 10, 2017, “Chicken Records” label released “Look Both Ways”, the debut Steamchicken album. It was recorded in 2016, and was produced by Amy Kakoura, Andrew Sharpe, Becky Eden-Green, Joe Crum, Katy Oliver, Mandy Sutton, Matt Crum and Ted Crum.

Runrig: The Story

On January 29, 2016, “Ridge Records” label released “The Story”, the fourteenth and final Runrig studio album. It was recorded 2014 – 2015, at “Glo-Worm Recording” in Glasgow, Scotland, “The Old Mill” in Strathaven, Scotland, “Stirling Rock School” in Stirling, Scotland, and was produced by Brian Hurren.

Paul Kantner

On January 28, 2016, Paul Lorin Kantner died aged 74. He was musician (guitar, banjo, and harmonica) and vocalist, member of the KBC Band and Jefferson Starship, but was best known as the co-founder, rhythm guitarist and occasional vocalist of the Jefferson Airplane. In 1996, as a member of Jefferson Airplane, Kantner was inducted into the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame”.

James Bain

On January 23, 2016, James Stewart Bain died aged 68. He was musician (bass, guitar, keyboards), vocalist and songwriter, performed and recorded with Phil Lynott, Wild Horses, Gary Moore, Hear ‘n Aid, Ian Hunter, John Cale and Last in Line, but was best known as member and bass player of Rainbow and Dio.

Cherry Glazerr: Apocalipstick

On January 20, 2017, “Secretly Canadian” label released “Apocalipstick”, the second Cherry Glazerr studio album. It was recorded in 2016, at “Sunset Sound”, “Music Friends” in Los Angeles, and was produced by Joe Chiccarelli and Carlos de la Garza.

Terence Griffin

On January 17, 2016, Terence Dale “Buffin” Griffin died aged 67. He was musician (drums) and music producer. He was member of the band The British Lions, but was best known as founding member and the drummer of Mott the Hoople. As producer he worked with Hanoi Rocks and Cult, and produced numerous BBC Radio 1 John Peel sessions from 1981 to 1994.

Flo Morrissey and Matthew E. White: Gentlewoman, Ruby Man

On January 13, 2017, “Glassnote Records” label released “Gentlewoman, Ruby Man”, album by Flo Morrissey and Matthew E. White. It was recorded in 2016, at “Montrose Recording” in Richmond, VA, and was produced by Matthew E. White.
