Jimmy Eat World: Bleed American

On July 24, 2001, “DreamWorks Records” label released “Bleed American”, the fourth Jimmy Eat World studio album. It was recorded 2000 – 2001, at “Cherokke”,  in Los Angeles, “Hardrive” in Hollywood, and was produced by Mark Trombino, Jim Adkins, Rick Burch, Zach Lind, and Tom Linton .

Zappafrank

On July 23, 1994, the “Astronomical Union” named the Asteroid 3834 (orbiting between Mars and Jupiter) “Zappafrank”, in honor of Frank Zappa, who died one year before. Zappafrank is not the first asteroid to be named after a rock musician;  Asteroids Lennon, McCartney, Starr, and Harrison already exist – and there are others named after Oldfield (Mike Oldfield), Clapton (Eric Clapton) and Jarre (Jean-Michel Jarre and Maurice Jarre).

Enchant: Blink of an Eye

On July 23, 2002, “Inside Out Music” label released “Blink of an Eye”, the sixth Enchant studio album. It was recorded in 2002 and was produced by Douglas A. Ott.

Arthur Neville

On July 22, 2019, Arthur Lanon Neville died aged 81. He was singer, musician (piano, keyboards) and songwriter, a founding member of The Meters, co-founder of The Neville Brothers, and founding member of The Funky Meters. He performed and recorded with Paul McCartney, Lee Dorsey, Robert Palmer, Professor Longhair, and Labelle. Neville received three “Grammy Awards”.

Sacha Distel

On July 22, 2004, Alexandre “Sacha” Distel died aged 71. He was musician (guitar), singer and actor, during his career worked with Dizzy Gillespie, Tony Bennett, Kenny Clarke, Jimmy Gourley, Lionel Hampton, Slide Hampton, Bobby Jaspar, Barney Kessel, John Lewis, Pierre Michelot, Bernard Peiffer, Henri Renaud, Fats Sadi, Art Simmons, Martial Solal, René Urtreger, and Barney Wilen.  In 1997, Distel was made “Chevalier (Knight) of the Légion d’honneur”.

Anberlin: Lowborn

On July 22, 2014, “Tooth & Nail” label released “Lowborn”, the seventh and final Anberlin studio album. It was recorded in 2014 and was produced by Stephen Christian, Joseph Milligan, Christian McAlhaney, Deon Rexroat and Nathan Young.
