On October 2, 1979, “Tuff Gong / Island” labels released “Survival”, album by Bob Marley & the Wailers (eleventh Bob Marley studio album). It was recorded January–February 1979, at “Tuff Gong Recording Studio” in Kingston, Jamaica, and was produced by Bob Marley, Aston Barrett, Carlton Barrett, Tyrone Downie, Junior Marvin and Alex Sadkin.

It was recorded April–May 1982, at “Tuff Gong Studios” in Kingston, Jamaica, and was produced by Bob Marley and Errol Brown.  The album tracks were compiled from unreleased material, demos and singles recorded during Marley’s lifetime.
