Matilda Scaduto

On April 22, 2003, Matilda Genevieve Scaduto died aged 77. With her husband Diadorius Boudleaux Bryant wrote number of hits for The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison. Their songs were recorded by many artists including The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Tonny Bennett, Grateful Dead, Simon and Garfunkel, Sarah Vaughan, Dolly Parton, Elvis Presley, Gram Parson, Joan Jett, The Beach Boys, Elvis Costello, Count Basie, Lynn Anderson, Sonny James, Eddy Arnold, Bob Moore, Charley Pride, Nazareth, Jim Reeves, Leo Sayer, Jerry Lee Lewis, Cher, R.E.M. and Ray Charles.

Tom Wilson Jr.

On September 6, 1978, Thomas Blanchard “Tom” Wilson Jr. died aged 47. He was producer best known for his work with Bob Dylan, The Mothers of Invention, The Fraternity of Man, Simon and Garfunkel, the Velvet Underground, Cecil Taylor, Sun Ra, Eddie Harris, Nico, Eric Burdon & the Animals, the Blues Project, the Clancy Brothers & Tommy Makem and Soft Machine.

Simon And Garfunkel: Bridge Over Truobled

On January 26, 1970, “Columbia” label released “Bridge over Troubled Water”, the fifth and final Simon & Garfunkel studio album. It was recorded in November 1969, and was produced by Paul Simon, Art Garfunkel and Roy Halee. Two album songs, “Bridge over Troubled Water” and “The Boxer”, are listed on Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Songs of All Time”; the album is ranked at number 51 on “Rolling Stone’s”  list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time” and have sold more than 25 million copies worldwide.

Simon & Garfunkel: Sounds Of Silence

Sounds of Silence

On January 17, 1966, “Columbia” label released “Sounds of Silence” the second Simon & Garfunkel studio album. It was recorded March 1964 – December 1965, and was produced by Bob Johnston. In 2013, the album was inducted in the “Library of Congress in the National Recording Registry”, due to its “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
