Public Image Ltd: End Of World

On August 11, 2023, “PIL Official” label released “End of World”, the eleventh Public Image Ltd studio album. It was recorded 2018 – 2022, at “Yellow Shark Studios” in Cheltenham, “Vada Studios” in Stratford-upon-Avon, UK, and was produced by Lu Edmonds, Scott Firth, John Lydon, Bruce Smith, John Rambo Stevens and James Towler.

On January 27, 1986, “Virgin” label released “Album”, the fifth Public Image Ltd. album. It was recorded in 1985, at “Electric Lady Studios”, “The Power Station”, “Quadrasonic Sound Studios”, and “RPM Sound Studios” in  New York City, and was produced by Bill Laswell.

Public Image Ltd.: Public Image Ltd. First Issue

On December 8, 1978, “Virgin” label released “Public Image: First Issue”, the debut  Public Image Ltd, album. It was recorded July – November 1978, at “The Manor Studio”, “Shipton-on-Cherwell”, “Wessex Studios”, “Gooseberry Sound Studios”, “Townhouse Studios” and “Advision Studios” in London, and was produced by John Lydon, Keith Levene, Jah Wobble and Jim Walker.

Ginger Baker

On October 6, 2019, Peter Edward “Ginger” Baker died aged 80. He was musician (drums, percussion) and song writer, credited as pioneer of drumming in rock, jazz fusion and world music, with reputation of “rock’s first superstar drummer”. Baker was member of the bands Blues Incorporated and Graham Bond Organisation, but he achieved worldwide success as co-founder and drummer of super group Cream, together with Eric Clapton and Jack Bruce. After Cream he was member of Blind Faith and founded Ginger Baker’s Air Force and Ginger Baker’s Energy. He has worked with big number of musicians and music acts such as Gary Moore, Masters of Reality, Public Image Ltd, Hawkwind, Atomic Rooster, Bill Laswell, Charlie Haden and Bill Frisell. As leader Baker released 18 albums.

Public Image Ltd.: This Is PIL

On May 28, 2012, “PiL Official Ltd “label released “This is PiL”, the ninth Public Image Ltd.studio album. It was recorded July-August 2011, at “Wincraft Studios” in  Cotswolds, UK, and was produced by John Lydon, Lu Edmonds, Scott Firth and Bruce Smith.

It was recorded in 1987, at “The Manor Studio” in Shipton-on-Cherwell; “Great Linford Manor Studios” in Milton Keynes, and was produced by Gary Langan, John Lydon, John McGeoch, Lu Edmonds, Allan Dias and Bruce Smith.

On November 23, 1979, “Virgin” label released “Metal Box”, the second Public Image Ltd. album. It was recorded March – October 1979, at “The Manor Studio”, ”Shipton-on-Cherwell”, “Townhouse Studios”, “Advision Studios”, “Gooseberry Sound Studios & Rollerball Rehearsal Studios” in London, and was produced by John Lydon,  Keith Levene, Jah Wobble and David Humphrey. In 2003, magazine “Rolling Stone” ranked “Metal Box” at number 469 on its list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.
