On April 5, 2025, David Geoffrey Allen died aged 69. He was musician (bass), vocalist and primary songwriter of the band The Elastic Purejoy, played bass guitar in Low Pop Suicide, was member and bass player of the band Gang of Four and founding member of Shriekback.

Andy Gill
On February 1, 2020, Andrew James Dalrymple Gill aka Andy Gill, died aged 64. He was musician (guitar) and record producer (The Stranglers, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Jesus Lizard, The Futureheads, Michael Hutchence, Killing Joke, Polysics, Fight Like Apes, Therapy?, Young Knives), best known as guitarist and founding member of Gang of Four.

Gang of Four: Entertainment!
On September 25, 1979, “EMI” label released “Entertainment!” the debut Gang of Four album. It was recorded 1979 at “The Workhouse” in London, and was produced by Andy Gill, Jon King and Rob Warr. In 2012, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 483 on its list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. In 2005, “Q” magazine ranked the track “At Home He’s a Tourist” at number 52 on its list of the “100 Greatest Guitar Tracks”.
