On September 9, 2003, “Hyena” label released “No Escape from the Blues: The Electric Lady Sessions”, the 17th James Blood Ulmer album. It was recorded in April 2003, at “Electric Lady Studios” in New York City, and was produced by Vernon Reid.

On April 20, 1972, “Atco” label released “Dr. John’s Gumbo”, the fifth Dr. John album. The album is a collection of covers of New Orleans classics, and was produced by Harold Battiste and Jerry Wexler. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 402 on its list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.

On October 16, 1968, “Reprise” label released “Electric Ladyland”, the third and the final Jimi Hendrix Experience studio album. It was recorded July – December 1967, and January – August 1968, and was produced by Jimi Hendrix. The album featured cover of the Bob Dylan song, “All Along the Watchtower,” which became the Experience’s best selling single ever. Magazine “Rolling Stone‍ ” ranked “Electric Ladyland” at number 54 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”.
