Abdullah Ibrahim

On June 15, 2026, Adolph Johannes Brand (Abdullah Ibrahim), previously known as Dollar Brand, died aged 91. He was musician (piano, saxophone, cello), composer and bandleader, especially known for “Mannenberg”, a jazz piece that became a notable anti-apartheid anthem. As leader he released 72 albums.

Dee Palmer

On June 13, 2026, Dee Palmer died aged 88. He was musician (keyboards), composer and arranger, best known as member of Jethro Tull (1976 – 1980). He produced several albums of orchestral arrangements of the music of various bands, including The Beatles, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes and Queen. As leader Palmer released one album.

Dick Parry

On May 22, 2026, Richard Parry died aged 83. He was musician (saxophone, keyboards), best known for his work with Pink Floyd (played on sone of their best known songs, including “Money”, “Us and Them”, “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” and “Wearing the Inside Out”. As session musician he recorded saxophone for many artists, including J.J. Jackson, Rory Gallagher, Mike Vernon, Pete Wingfield, Quiver, Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, Mick Grabham, Jimmy Dawkins, Lightnin’ Slim, Kazimierz Lux, Andy Roberts, Bloodstone, John Entswile, Les Humphries Singers, Jimmy Witherspoon, Duster Bennett, Paice Ashton Lord, Banco de Gaia, David Gilmour and Deborah Bonham.

Beverley Martin

On April 27, 2026, Beverley Kutner aka Beverley Martin died aged 79. She was musician (guitar), singer and songwriter, member of the band Levee Breakers (The). She recorded and performed with John Martyn, Jimmy Page, Simon & Garfunkel, Levon Helm, Dave Pegg, Richard Thompson, Ralph McTell, John Renbourn, Andy White, John Paul Jones, Nicky Hopkins, Loudon Wainwright III, Wilko Johnson, Sandy Denny and Davy Graham. As leader or co-leader she released five albums (two with John Martyn).

Dave Mason

On April 19, 2026, David Thomas Mason died aged 79. He was musician (guitar), singer and songwriter, best known as the founding member of the band Traffic. He recorded and performed with Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, Graham Nash, Steve Winwood, Donovan, Fleetwood Mac, Delaney & Bonnie, Cass Elliot, The Spencer Davis Group, Leon Russell, Paul McCartney and Wings, Julian Covey & The Machine, Stephen Stills, Phoebe Snow, Mike Finnigan, The Scaffold, Gordon Jackson, Family, Ron Wood, Noel Redding, David Crosby, Don Felder, Jim Capaldi, The Rolling Stones and George Harrison. As leader he released 16 studio and seven live albums.

Moya Brennan

On April 13, 2026, Moya Brennan (born Máire Philomena Ní Bhraonáin) died aged 73. She was singer, musician (harp, piano), songwriter, and philanthropist, founding member and leader of Moya Brennan Band, but was best known as member of band Clannad. She recorded music for several soundtracks, including “Titanic”, “To End All Wars” and “King Arthur”. As leader Brennan released 15 studio and 3 live albums.

Terry Cox

On March 19, 2026, Terence William Harvey Cox aka Terry Cox, died aged 89. He was musician (drums), member of the bands The Pentangle, Duffy’s Nucleus and Humblebums. He performed and recorded with David Bowie, Elton John, Charles Aznavour, Alexis Korner, Ashton & Lord, Bee Gees, Bert Jansch, Bread Love and Dreams, Cleo Laine, Damian Halloran and Maria Millward, Dana Gillespie, Digby Fairweather, Duffy Power, Fishbaugh Fishbaugh Zorn, George Martin, Harold McNair, Harvey Andrews, Jade, Jan & Lorraine, John Renbourn, John Williams, Lesley Duncan, Linda Lewis, Long John Baldry, Lynsey de Paul, Marian Segal, Mike Batt, Mike Silver, Patrick and Matrix Yandall, Pete Atkin, Philwit & Pegasus, Ray Warleigh, Rupert Hine, Scott Walker, Shawn Brothers, Shirley Collins,. Dolly Collins, The Sallvangie, Therapy, Tudor Lodge and Wally Whyton.

Billy Bass Nelson

On January 31, 2026, William “Billy Bass” Nelson Jr. died aged 75. He was musician (bass, guitar), recorded and performed with The Commodores, Chairmen of the Board, Fishbone, Jermaine Jackson, Parlet, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, and Lenny Williams, but was best known as the original bassist for Funkadelic. In 1997, he was inducted in to the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” (together with the other members of Parliament-Funkadelic.)
