On May 24, 2024, Douglas Lloyd Ingle died aged 78. He was musician (organ) and singer, best known as the founder, organist, lead vocalist and primary composer for the band Iron Butterfly. He wrote the band’s best known song “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida”.

Ron Bushy
On August 29, 2021, Ron Bushy died aged 79. He was musician (drums) and graphic artist, member of the bands Voxmen, Magic and Gold, but was best known as drummer of Iron Butterfly. Bushy was the only Iron Butterfly member to appear on all band’s studio albums.
Rhino Reinhardt
On January 2, 2012, Larry “Rhino” Reinhardt died aged 63. He was musician (guitar), member of the bands Bittersweet, The Second Coming, The Load, and Captain Beyond, but was best known as the guitarist of the band Iron Butterfly. As leader he released three albums.

On December 21, 2012, Douglas Lee Dorman died aged 70. He was musician (bass) member of the band Captain Beyond, but was best known as the bass player of Iron Butterfly.
Darryl DeLoach
On October 3, 2002, Darryl DeLoach died aged 56. He was a singer, and musician (guitar), best known as the original lead singer, guitarist, and lyricist for the San Diego psychedelic rock band Iron Butterfly.
Erik Brann
On July 25, 2003, Erik Keith Brann died aged 52. He was a musician (guitar), member of Flintwistle, The Paper Fortress, but was best known as member and guitarist of Iron Butterfly.

Iron Butterfly: Metamorphosis
On August 13, 1970, “Atco” label released “Metamorphosis”, the fourth Iron Butterfly, studio album. It was recorded May – July 1970, and was produced by Richard Podolor. “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 403 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. “Metamorphosis” is noted for having one of the earliest uses of the Talk box on a rock album.

On June 14, 1968, “Atco” label released “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida”, the second Iron Butterfly studio album. It was recorded in 1968, at “Gold Star Studios” in Hollywood, and in “Ultra Sonic Studios” in New York, and was produced by Don Casale. “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” was certified 4 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”, and was the best selling album of the year 1969.
