Terence Griffin

On January 17, 2016, Terence Dale “Buffin” Griffin died aged 67. He was musician (drums) and music producer. He was member of the band The British Lions, but was best known as founding member and the drummer of Mott the Hoople. As producer he worked with Hanoi Rocks and Cult, and produced numerous BBC Radio 1 John Peel sessions from 1981 to 1994.

Leslie West

On December 22, 2020, Leslie Weinstein aka Leslie West died aged 75. He was musician (guitar), vocalist, and songwriter, member of the bands The Vagrants, West, Bruce and Laing, but was best known as the founding member, guitarist, and co-lead vocalist of the band Mountain. In its list of the “100 Greatest guitarists of all time”, Rolling Stone magazine placed West at number 66. As a leader he released 16 albums.

Molly Duncan

On October 7, 2019, Malcolm “Molly” Duncan died aged 74. He was a musician (saxophone), recorded and performed with Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Tom Petty, Buddy Guy, Ben E. King, Dire Straits, Bryan Ferry, Chaka Khan, and Eric Clapton, but was best known as a founding member of Average White Band.

Edward Lodewijk Van Halen

On October 6, 2020, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen died aged 65. He was a musician (guitar), songwriter, producer, and inventor, known for his work with Michael Jackson, Brian May, Sammy Hagar, and LL Cool J, but best known as a founding member, songwriter, and guitarist of band Van Halen. He was voted number one in the “Guitar World” magazine reader’s poll for “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time”.

Jay Migliori

On September 2, 2001, Jay Migliori died aged 70. He was a musician (saxophone), a founding member of Supersax, a Charlie Parker tribute band. Some artists he performed and recorded with include Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, The Beach Boys, Frank Zappa, Frank Sinatra, Maynard Ferguson, The 5th Dimension, Cannonball Adderley, Nat Adderley, Gene Ammons, Paul Anka, David Axelrod, Hoyt Axton, The Byrds, Captain & Tennille, Harry Chapin, Leonard Cohen, Albert Collins, Dick Dale, Neil Diamond, Woody Herman, Tito Puente, The Manhattan Transfer, Harry Nilsson, Van Dyke Parks, Esther Phillips, Helen Reddy, The Righteous Brothers, The Tubes, Loudon Wainwright III, Joe Williams, Brian Wilson, and Neil Young. As a leader, Migliori released three albums.
