Joe Lala

On March 18, 2014, Joseph Anthony Lala died aged 66. He was musician (percussion), singer and actor, worked with many musicians and bands including The Byrds, Ringo Starr, Bill Wyman, Stephen Stills, Barbra Streisand, Dan Fogelberg, Manassas, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Neil Young, Dione Warwick, The Stills-Young Band, Rod Stewart, Graham Nash, The Bee Gees, Neil Diamond, Jackson Browne, Whitney Houston and Joe Walsh, but was best known as founding member and leader of the band Blues Image.

On October 26, 1999, “Reprise” label released “Looking Forward”, the third and final Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young studio album. It was recorded 1996 – 1999, and was produced by David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, Neil  Young, Joe Vitale, Ben Keith and Stanley Johnston.

On August 15, 1969, Woodstock Festival started on Max Yasgur’s 600 acre farm in Bethel outside New York. The three day festival was attended by more then 400,000 people. Some of the festival performers were Jimi Hendrix, Richie Havens, Joe Cocker, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Santana, The Who, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, The Band, Canned Heat, Joan Baez, Melanie, Ten Years After, Sly and the Family Stone, Johnny Winter, Jefferson Airplane, Ravi Shankar, Country Joe and the Fish, Blood Sweat and Tears, Arlo Guthrie and Joe Cocker.
