Sentimental Journey

On March 27, 1970, “Apple” label released “Sentimental Journey”, the debut Ringo Starr studio album. It was recorded October 27 – December 26 1969 and January 14 –  March 6 1970, at “Abbey Road Studios”, “Trident Studios”, “Wessex Sound Studios”, “Olympic Sound Studios”, “De Lane Lea Studios” , “Morgan Sound Studios” in London, and  “A&M Studios” in Los Angeles, and was produced by George Martin.

The Clash: London Calling

On December 14, 1979, “CBS” label released “London Calling”, the third Clash (The) studio album.  It was recorded August – November 1979, at the “Wessex Sound Studios” in London, and was produced by Guy Stevens and Mick Jones. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “London Calling” at number 8 on it’s list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. The album sold in more than 5 million copies worldwide and was certified Platinum in the US by “RIAA”,  and is regarded as one of the most important albums in the history of modern music.

On October 10, 1969, “Island” label released “In the Court of the Crimson King” the debut King Crimson album.  It was recorded July – August 1969, at the “Wessex Sound Studios”, in London, and was produced by Robert Fripp,  Michael Giles, Greg Lake, Peter Sinfield, and Ian McDonald. “In the Court of the Crimson King”  is regarded to be one of the most important albums not only of the progressive rock but of rock music in general. In the 2007 book “Rocking the Classics”, critic and musicologist Edward Macan notes that “In the Court of the Crimson King ” may be the most influential progressive rock album ever released”.
