On June 16, 1980, “Warner Bros” label released “Come Upstairs”, the ninth Carly Simon studio album. It was recorded October 1979 – May 1980, at “The Power Station” in New York City, and was produced by Mike Mainieri.

Peter Bardens

On January 22, 2002, Peter Bardens died aged 57. He was musician (keyboards, piano) singer and song writer, member of Them, Shotgun Express, Keats, Mirage, best known as founding member of Camel. Bardens has also worked with Mick Fleetwood, Rod Stewart and Van Morrison. As leader he released eleven albums.

On June 11, 1965, “Decca” label released “The Angry Young Them”, the debut Them album. It was recorded 1964 – 1965, and was produced by Tommy Scott, Bert Berns and Dick Rowe.

Dick Rowe

On June 6, 1986, Richard Paul “Dick” Rowe, died aged 64. He was A&R man at “Decca Records” in the 50’s and the 60’s, became known to the wide audience “as the man who did not sign The Beatles”. Brian Epstein. The Beatles manager paid “Decca Records” one-hour audition. After the audition Rowe told Epstein “Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr. Epstein”.  But Rowe was actually one of the most successful producers and record executives in the 50’s and in the 60’s and he  signed to “Decca Records” many important artists including The Rolling Stones, Them (Van Morrison), The Moody Blues, The Tremeloes, The Zombies, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, The Brumbeats, The Tornados, Tom Jones and The Small Faces.
