It was recorded 5 April – 17 June, 16 July – 17 August 1985, 10 September – 15 October 1985, at “Pathe  Marconi Studios” in Paris, and was produced by Steve Lillywhite  and The Glimmer Twins. The album was dedicated to Ian Stewart, band’s long time collaborative and friend.
