On April 5, 2019, “Sub Pop” label released “Titanic Rising” the fourth Weyes Blood studio album. It was recorded 2018 – 2019, and was produced by Jonathan Rado and Natalie Mering.

On August 24, 1998, Eugene Edgar Page Jr. aka Gene Page, died aged 58. He was a conductor, composer, arranger, and record producer, one of the most successful arrangers and conductors from the mid-1960s through the mid-1980s, who worked on more than 200 Platinum and gold records. He created specific sound in the arrangements, and work with numerous artists including Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, George Benson, The Jackson 5, Jefferson Starship, The Righteous Brothers, The Supremes, The Four Tops, Roberta Flack, Elton John, Leo Sayer, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Frankie Valli, Helen Reddy, Lionel Richie, Barbra Streisand, Johnny Mathis, Donna Loren, Martha and The Vandellas, Cher, Barry White, The Love Unlimited Orchestra, and Dionne Warwick. Page released four solo albums and composed soundtracks for few movies.

On April 16, 2020.

On April 16, 2020, Daniel Bevilacqua aka Christophe died aged 74. He was singer – songwriter and musician (keyboards), known for his chanson – balladeer style. He became famous in France in the early sixties with the song “Aline”. Christophe recorded 15 studio albums, composed music for films and performed as actor in 6 movies.

On February 9, 2018.

On February 9, 2018, Jóhann Jóhannsson died aged 48. He was composer who was composing music for theatre, dance, TV  and movies. Some of his movie works include original scores for “Personal Effects” by David Hollander, “For Ellen” by So Yong Kim, “McCanick” by John C. Waller, “Prisoners” by Denis Villeneuve, Sicario by Denis Villeneuve, “Arrival” by Denis Villeneuve, “The Mercy” by James Marsh and “Mary Magdalene” by Garth Davis. For the score for James Marsh’s “The Theory of Everything”, Jóhannsson won a “Golden Globe” for “Best Original Score”. In the period 2002 – 2016, he released nine solo albums.

On July 18, 1988.


On July 18, 1988, Christa Päffgen aka Nico died aged 49. German born singer-songwriter, lyricist, composer, musician, fashion model and actress Nico was promoted in the 60’s by Andy Warhol and had few roles in movies including Federico  Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita” (1960) and Andy Warhol’s “Chelsea Girls” (1966), but she is best known  by her vocals on the Velvet Underground’s album from 1967 “The Velvet Underground & Nico”.
