Otis Rush: Mourning in the Morning

In August 1969, “Cotillion” label released “Mourning in the Morning”, the second Otis Rush album. It was recorded in 1969, at “FAME Studios” in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and was produced by Nick Gravenites and Mike Bloomfield.

On January 2, 2018, Roe Erister “Rick” Hall died aged 85. He was musician (guitar, mandolin) , music producer, songwriter, music publisher, best known as the owner and proprietor of “FAME Studios” in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He had recorded and promoted names like Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Duane Allman, Etta James, Osmonds, Paul Anka and Tom Jones. In 1985, Hall was inducted into the “Alabama Music Hall of Fame”, received the “John Herbert Orr Pioneer Award”, and In 2014, he won the “Grammy Trustees Award”.

On March 10, 1967, “Atlantic” label released “I Never Loved a Man the Way I Love You”, the eleventh Aretha Franklin studio album. It was recorded in January and February, 1967 at “Fame Studio”, “Muscle Shoals” and “Atlantic Recording Studios”, in New York, and was produced by Jerry Wexler.  In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 83 ranking on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”.
