Uprising

On June 10, 1980, “Tuff Gong / Island” labels released “Uprising”, album by Bob Marley and the Wailers. It was recorded January – April 1980, at the “Tuff Gong Studios” in Kingston, Jamaica, and was produced by Chris Blackwell and Bob Marley. “Uprising” was the final studio album released during Marley’s lifetime.

On April 30, 1976, “Island” label released “Rastaman Vibration”,album by Bob Marley and the Wailers. It was recorded 1975 – 1976, at “Harry J. Studios” and “Joe Gibbs Studio” in Kingston, Jamaica, and was produced by Bob Marley, Earl Smith, Al Anderson, Tyrone Downie, Aston Barrett and Carlton Barrett.

On October 25, 1974, “Island” label released “Natty Dread”, the debut Bob Marley & the Wailers album.  It was recorded in 1973, at “Harry J. Studios” in Kingston, Jamaica, and was produced by Chris Blackwell, Bob Marley, Aston Barrett, Carlton Barrett, Bernard Harvey, Jean Roussel and Al Anderson.  It was the first album  without Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, and the first album recorded with the I-Threes, a female vocal trio that included Bob’s wife, Rita Marley, Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt.  In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Natty Dread” at number 181 on it’s list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”.
