On March 24, 1992, “Elektra” label released “Apollo 18”, the fourth They Might Be Giants studio album. It was recorded in March 1991,  at “The Magic Shop” in New York City, and was produced by John Flansburgh and John Linnell. The album was associated with “International Space Year”, for which They Might Be Giants were declared the official “musical ambassadors” by “NASA”.

The album was dedicated to Ian Stewart, band’s long time collaborative and friend.

It was recorded December 1978 – January 1979 at “Roundhouse Studios” and “Sound Development Studios” in London, and was produced by Jimmy Miller and Neil Richmond. “Kerrang!” magazine ranked the album at number 46 on its list of “100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums of All Time.”
