On February 4, 1985, “A&M” label released “Secret Secrets”, the ninth Joan Armatrading studio album. It was recorded in 1984, at “Battery Studios” in Willesden, London, and was produced by Mike Howlett.

It was recorded in 2001, at “Bear Creek in Woodinville” in Washington, “Avast! Recording Co.” in Seattle, Washington, Doug Martsch’s studio, The Manhouse, in Boise, Idaho, and was produced by Phil Ek and Doug Martsch.
