Gary Shider

On June 16, 2010, Garry Marshall Shider died aged 56. He was musician (guitar, vocal), member of Parliament and Funkadelic, and musical director of the P-Funk All-Stars. In 1997, Shider was inducted into the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” together with the other Parliament and Funkadelic members.

Eddie Hazel

On December 23, 1992, Edward Earl “Eddie” Hazel died aged 42. He was musician (guitar), recorded and performed with The Temptations, George Clinton, Axiom Funk and Bootsy Collins, but was best known as lead guitarist of Parliament and Funkadelic. In 1997, he was posthumous inducteed in the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame”,  together with fifteen other members of Parliament and Funkadelic.

Funkadelic: Hardcore Jollies

On October 29, 1976, “Warner Bros” label released “Hardcore Jollies”, the ninth Funkadelic studio album. It was recorded in 1976, and was produced by George Clinton. “Hardcore Jollies” was the last band’s album to include three original members of The Parliaments: Fuzzy Haskins, Calvin Simon and Grady Thomas.

Funkadelic: Maggot Brain

On July 12, 1971, “Westbounds Records” label released “Maggot Brain”, the third Funkadelic studio album. It was recorded 1970–1971, at “Universal Studios” in Detroit, and was produced by George Clinton. “Maggot Brain” was the last album to feature the original Funkadelic lineup –  after “Maggot Brain” was recorded, Tawl Ross, Eddie Hazel, Billy Nelson, and Tiki Fulwood left the band. In 2012, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 479 on its list of The “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.
