On October 19, 1970, “Columbia” label released “New Morning”, the eleventh Bob Dylan studio album.  It was recorded June–August 1970, at “Studio B” and “Studio E”, at the “Columbia Studio Building”, in New York City and was produced by Bob Johnston.

On October 16, 1968, “Reprise” label released “Electric Ladyland”, the third and the final Jimi Hendrix Experience studio album. It was recorded July – December 1967, and January – August 1968, and was produced by Jimi Hendrix. The album featured cover of the Bob Dylan song, “All Along the Watchtower,” which became the Experience’s best selling single ever. Magazine “Rolling Stone‍ ” ranked “Electric Ladyland” at number 54 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”.

On August 30, 1965, “Columbia” label released “Highway 61 Revisited”, the sixth Bob Dylan studio album . It was recorded June -August 1965, at “Columbia Studio A” in New York,  and was produced by Bob Johnston. The album features some of the best known Dylan songs, including “Like a Rolling Stone”, “Ballad of a thin man” and “Highway 61 revisited”. “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Highway 61 Revisited” at number four on its list of “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”. The song “Like a Rolling Stone” is listed number one on “Rolling Stone‍ ’s list of the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time” list, “Desolation Row” and “Highway 61 Revisited”, were listed at number 187 and number 373 on the same list.

On August 14, 1971, “Track” label released “Who’s Next”, the fifth Who studio album. It was recorded April -June 1971, at the “Olympic Studios” and “Stargroves” (Rolling Stones Mobile Studio)  in London, and was produced by Glyn Johns, Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon.

Filmore East

On June 27, 1971, rock venue “Fillmore East” was closed. Rock promoter Bill Graham opened “Fillmore East” on Second Avenue near East 6th Street in the East Village, in New York City, on March 8, 1968. In its three years of existence, some of the biggest acts in rock music performed in this venue. The “Fillmore East” was a companion to Graham’s “Fillmore Auditorium”, and its successor, the “Fillmore West”, in San Francisco.

Big number of live albums by famous artists was recorded in “Fillmore East”, including:
