Public Image Ltd.: Album

On January 27, 1986, “Virgin” label released “Album”, the fifth Public Image Ltd. album. It was recorded in 1985, at “Electric Lady Studios”, “The Power Station”, “Quadrasonic Sound Studios”, and “RPM Sound Studios” in  New York City, and was produced by Bill Laswell.

Peter Gabriel: Passion

Passion

On June 5, 1989, “Geffen” label released “Passion”, the eight Peter Gabriel album. It was recorded 1988 – 1989, and was produced by Peter Gabriel. “Passion” was originally composed as the soundtrack for the movie “The Last Temptation of Christ”, but after the movie’s release Gabriel worked additionally on the music and released it as full-fledged album instead of a movie soundtrack.  In 1990, the album won “Grammy Award” for “Best New Age Album”.

On May 19, 1986, “Charisma” label released “So”, the fifth Peter Gabriel album. It was recorded February – December 1985, at “Ashcombe House” in Bath, and was produced by Peter Gabriel and Daniel Lanois. “So” was certified 3 x Platinum in UK by the “BPI’ and 5 x Platinum in the US by the “RIIA”. “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked it at number 187 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.
