Kriss Kristofferson

On September 28, 2024, Kristoffer Kristofferson died aged 88 years. He was musician (guitar, harmonica), singer, composer and actor. His best known songs are “Me and Bobby McGee”, “For the Good Times”, “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down”, and “Help Me Make It Through the Night”. Kristofferson has won three “Grammy Awards” and received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” in 2014. As leader he released twenty-one albums.

Nick Gravenites

On September 18, 2024, Nick Gravenites died aged 85. He was musician (guitar), singer and songwriter, performed and recorded with Mike Bloomfield, Charlie Musselwhite, John Cipollina and Quicksilver Messenger Service, but was best known as lead singer of Electric Flag. With John Cipollina he formed the Nick Gravenites–John Cipollina Band.

Zoot Money

On September 8, 2024, George Bruno “Zoot” Money died aged 82. He was vocalist, musician (keyboards, bass) and band leader), best known as member of Big Roll Band. He recorded with The Scaffold, Spencer Davis, Thunderclap Newman, Widowmaker, Alan Price, Alexis Korner, Alvin Lee, Andy Roberts, The Animals, Brian Friel, The British Blues Quintet, Centipede, Dantalian’s Chariot, Eddie Harris, Eric Burdon, Marc Ellington, Grimms, Johnny Almond Music Machine, Jim Diamond, Georgie Fame, Kevin Ayers, Kevin Coyne, Humble Pie, Juicy Lucy, La Tour, Long John Baldry, Lonnie Donegan, Mike McGear, Peter Green, Pete York, Roger McGough and Ruby Turner. As leader, Money released ten albums.

Herbie Flowers

On September 5, 2024, Brian Keith “Herbie” Flowers died aged 86. He was musician (bass, double bass, tuba), member of bands Blue Mink, T. Rex and Sky. He played on more than 500 hit recordings, including ones for Elton John, Camel, David Bowie, Lou Reed, Roy Harper, David Essex, Al Kooper, Bryan Ferry, Harry Nilsson, Cat Stevens, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, Chanter Sisters, Allan Clarke, Jeff Wayne, Roger Daltrey, Steve Harley, Tim Rose, Cliff Richard, Sally Oldfield, Olivia Newton – John, Melanie, Hazel O’Connor and Jane Wiedlin. As leader, Flowers released four albums.

Sérgio Santos Mendes

On September 5, 2024, Sérgio Santos Mendes died aged 83. He was musician (piano), bandleader, composer and arranger, founder and leader of the bands Sexteto Bossa Rio and Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’65, known for playing bossa nova crossed with funk. He won three “Grammy Awards and as leader released 44 albums.

Borisav “Bora” Đorđević 

On September 4, 2024, Borisav “Bora” Đorđević (known as Bora Čorba) died aged 71. He was singer, songwriter, musician (guitar, harmonica, percussion) and poet, member of the bands Hermelini, Suncokreti, PORS, Zajedno and Rani Mraz, but was best known as singer and leader of Riblja Čorba.

Steve Albini

On May 7, 2024, Steve Albini died aged 61. He was singer-songwriter, musician (guitar, bass, drums), audio engineer and music journalist, member the bands Big Black, Rapeman and Shellac. Albini was the founder, owner, and principal engineer of the Chicago studio “Electrical Audio”. He recorded and produced thousands of albums, for various acts including Nirvana, The Pixies, Fugazi, Chris Connely, Volcano Suns, The Breeders, Superchunk, Ty Segall, The Wedding Present, Cheap Trick, Guided By Voices, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, PJ Harvey, Manic Street Preachers, Will Oldham, Red Crayola, The Jesus Lizard and Jimmy Page and Robert Plant.

Mike Pinder

On April 24, 2024, Michael Thomas Pinder died aged 82. He was musician (keyboards) and singer, known as the founding member and keyboards player of the band Moody Blues. Pinder was renowned for his contributions in the development and emergence of the Mellotron in 1960s rock music. In 2018, he was inducted into the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” as a member of the Moody Blues.As leader Pinder released two albums.
