Gladys Knight & the Pips: Everybody Needs Love

In September 1967, “Soul Imprint” label released “Everybody Needs Love”, the debut Gladys Knight & the Pips album. It was recorded 1966 – 1967, at “Hitsville U.S.A.” in Detroit, and was produced by Norman  Whitfield, Harvey Fuqua, Johnny Bristol and Smokey Robinson.

On July 17, 1967, “Gordy” label released “The Temptations with a Lot o’ Soul”, the fifth Temptations (The) studio album. It was recorded 1966 – 1967, in Hitsville, Detroit, and was produced by Norman Whitfield, Smokey Robinson, Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier, Frank Wilson and Ivy Jo Hunter.

The Temptations: Wish It Would Rain

On April 29, 1968, “Gordy” label released “The Temptations Wish It Would Rain”, the seventh Temptations (The) studio album. It was recorded 1967-1968, and was produced by Norman Whitfield, Smokey Robinson and Henry Cosby. It was the band’s final release with the original line-up: David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, Melvin Franklin, and Otis Williams. “The Temptations Wish It Would Rain” is also band’s last album to feature Smokey Robinson as producer.

On December 9, 1966, “Reaction” label released “A Quick One”, the second Who studio album. It was recorded September – November 1966, at the “IBC Studios” and “PYE Studios” in London, and was produced by Kit Lambert.
