George Harrison: Thirty Three & 1/3

On November 19, 1976, “Dark Horse” label released “Thirty Three & 1/3”, the seventh George Harrison studio album.  It was recorded May – September 1976, at the “Friar Park”, Harrison’s home studio, and was produced by Harrison and Tom Scott. The album was accompanied by comedy themed video clips for three of the songs, two of which were directed by Eric Idle.

On September 23, 1977, “ABC” label released “Aja”, the sixth Steely Dan studio album . It was recorded January – July 1977, at the “Village Recorder” in  West Los Angeles, “Producer’s Workshop” and “Sound Labs”  in Hollywood, “Warner Bros” studios in Burbank, “ABC” studios in New York City,  “A&R” studios in Manhattan, and was produced by Gary Katz.  In July 1978, the album won the “Grammy Award for Best Engineered Non-Classical Recording”. In 2003 “Aja” was ranked number 145 on “Rolling Stone” magazine “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time” list. The album was certified Platinum in US by the “RIAA”.

On September 7, 1987, “EMI” label released ”A Momentary Lapse of  Reason”, the thirteenth Pink Floyd studio album.  It was recorded October 1986 – May 1987, and was produce by Bob Ezrin and David Gilmour. The album features David Gilmour’s material recorded for his third solo album and is recorded together with two Pink Floyd original members, drummer Nick Mason and keyboardist Richard Wright. “Momentary lapse of reason” is the first Pink Floyd album since the departure of bass guitarist, singer, and songwriter Roger Waters in December 1985.
