Aston “Family Man” Barrett

On February 3, 2024, Aston Francis Barrett aka Aston “Family Man” Barrett, died aged 77. He was musician (bass guitar, guitar, keyboards, percussion), song-writer, arranger and producer. Barrett was member of the bands The Hippy Boys, Lee Perry’s The Upsetters, but was best known as member and bandleader of The Wailers (Bob Marley and the Wailers).  

Bunny Wailer

On March 2, 2021, Neville O’Riley Livingston, OM aka Bunny Wailer died aged 73. He was musician (percussion), singer and songwriter, also known as Bunny Livingston and Jah B. Three time “Grammy Award” winner, best known as an founding member of reggae group The Wailers along with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. In 2017, Wailer was awarded the prestigious “Order of Merit” by the Jamaican Government, for his contribution for the Jamaican music. The legendary reggae singer whose career reached across seven decades, released 30 albums as leader.

Bob Marley And The Wailers: Uprising

Uprising

On June 10, 1980, “Tuff Gong / Island” labels released “Uprising”, album by Bob Marley and the Wailers. It was recorded January – April 1980, at the “Tuff Gong Studios” in Kingston, Jamaica, and was produced by Chris Blackwell and Bob Marley. “Uprising” was the final studio album released during Marley’s lifetime.

The Wailers: Catch a Fire

Bob Marley Catch A Fire

On April 13, 1973, “Island” label released “Catch a Fire”the fifth Wailers (The) album. It was recorded May–October 1972; at “Dynamic Sound Studios”, “Harry J. Studios” and “Randy’s Studios” in Kingston, Jamaica, mixed at “Island Studios” in London,  and was produced by Chris Blackwell. “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Catch a Fire” at number 126 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”.
