Rufus Wainwright: Release the Stars

On May 15, 2007, “Geffen” label released “Release the Stars”, the fifth Rufus Wainwright studio album. It was recorded in 2006, at “Second Story” and “Legacy” in New York City, “Brooklyn Recording” in Brooklyn, “Saal 4” in Berlin, “Strongroom” and “Angel Recording Studio” in London, and was produced by Rufus Wainwright.

Everything_That_Happens_Will_Happen_Today

On August 18, 2008, “Todo Mundo” label released “Everything That Happens Will Happen Today”, the second album made in collaboration between  David  Byrne and Brian Eno. It was recorded by Brian Eno in his London home studio through 2006, finished by David Byrne and Leo Abrahams in their New  York  City and London home studios through 2008; additional instrumentation recorded at “Cafe Music Studios” and “Harder Sound” in New York City. At the 51st “Annual Grammy Awards” in February 2009, Stefan Sagmeister won the award for “Best Recording Package”

On April 4, 2000, “Sire” label released “Ecstasy”, the eighteenth Lou Reed album. It was recorded in 1999, at “Sear Sound” in NYC, and was produced by Lou Reed and Hal Willner. The cover photography is by Reed.

On February 1, 2005, “Secretly Canadian” label released “I Am a Bird Now”, the second Antony and the Johnsons album.  It was recorded in 2004, and was produced by Antony Hegarty. On September 6, 2005, the album won the “Mercury Prize”.

Raven

On January 28, 2003, “Sire” label released “The Raven”, the nineteenth Lou Reed album. It was recorded in 2002, and was produced by Hal Willner and Lou Reed. “The Raven” is concept album recounting the short stories and poems of Edgar Allan Poe through word and song. The album also features new versions of two of Lou Reed’s songs, “The Bed” and “Perfect Day”.
