Beastie Boys: Licensed To ill

On November 15, 1986, “Def Jam” label released “Licensed to ill”, the debut Beastie Boys studio album. It was recorded in 1986, and was produced by Rick Rubin, Mike D, MCA and Ad-Rock. In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked the album at number 217 on its list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time and in 2013 the same magazine named it the best debut album of all time. “Licensed to Ill” was the first rap album to top the Billboard album chart. In February 1987, the album was certified Platinum in the US by “RIIA’.

Beastie Boys: The Mix-Up

The Mix Up

On June 26, 2007, “Capitol” label released “The Mix-Up”, the seventh Beastie Boys studio album. The entirely instrumental album was recorded 2006–2007, at  “Oscilloscope Laboratories” in New York City, and was produced by Ad-Rock, MCA, and Mike D. “The Mix-Up” won a “Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album”.

On April 21, 1992, “Capitol” label released “Check Your Head”, the third Beastie Boys. It was recorded in 1991and 1992, at “G-Son Studios” in Atwater Village, and was produced by Mario Caldato, Jr.
