Jeffrey Deon Estus

On October 11, 2021, Jeffery Deon Estus died aged 65. He was musician (bass), singer and songwriter, member of collective Boogie Box High and band Switch, but was best known as the bass player of Wham. He recorded and performed with Marvin Gaye, George Michael, Elton John, Aaron Neville, Tina Turner, Frank Zappa, Annie Lennox, Edgar Winter and George Clinton. As leader Estus released one album.

Peter Tork

On February 21, 2019, Peter Halsten Thorkelson aka Peter Tork, died aged 77. He was musician (keyboards, piano, bass guitar, banjo, guitar), songwriter and actor, performed with James Lee Stanley and his band Shoe Suede Blues, recorded wit George Harrison, formed the band Peter Tork Release, but was best known as keyboards and bass player of The Monkees. As leader Tork released one album.

Thomas Stevens

On January 23, 2021, Thomas Howard Stevens died aged 64. He was musician (bass, guitar) and singer, recorded with Magi, Danny and Dasty, Jack Waterson, Donovan’s Brain, associated with the Paisley Underground, but was best known as member and bass player of The Long Ryders. As leader he released on EP and six albums.

Peter Frederick Way

On August 14, 2020. Peter Frederick Way died aged 69. He was musician (bass guitar) and songwriter, founding member of Fastway, and Waysted, member of The Plot, and Michael Schenker Group, performed with Ozzy Osbourne, but was best known as member and bass player of UFO. As leader, he released three albums.

Bernard Edwards

On April 18, 1996, Bernard Edwards died aged 43. He was musician (bass), singer, songwriter and record producer, co-founder of the band Chic. As musician and producer he worked with David Bowie, Sister Sledge, Diana Ross, Debbie Harry, Madonna, The Power Station, Duran Duran, Norma Jean Wright, Mick Jagger, Joe Cocker, Paul Simon, Sheila and B. Devotion, Nona Hendryx, Robert Palmer, Belouis Some, Air Supply, Rod Stewart, Adam Ant and James Freud. As leader Edwards released one album. In 2017, “Bass Player” magazine placed Edwards at number 53 on its list of the “Greatest Bassist of All Time”.

T-Bone Wolk

On February 28, 2010, Tom “T-Bone” Wolk died aged 58. He was musician (bass, guitar, mandolin, accordion), and music producer, worked with Kurtis Blow, Carly Simon, Saturday night Live house band, Elvis Costello, Billy Joel, Squeeze, Shawn Colvin and Jellyfish, but was best known as member and bass player of Hall & Oates.
