Confrontation

On May 23, 1983, “Tuff Gong / Island” labels released posthumously “Confrontation”  album by Bob Marley & the Wailers. It was recorded April–May 1982, at “Tuff Gong Studios” in Kingston, Jamaica, and was produced by Bob Marley and Errol Brown.  The album tracks were compiled from unreleased material, demos and singles recorded during Marley’s lifetime.

On October 25, 1974, “Island” label released “Natty Dread”, the debut Bob Marley & the Wailers album.  It was recorded in 1973, at “Harry J. Studios” in Kingston, Jamaica, and was produced by Chris Blackwell, Bob Marley, Aston Barrett, Carlton Barrett, Bernard Harvey, Jean Roussel and Al Anderson.  It was the first album  without Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, and the first album recorded with the I-Threes, a female vocal trio that included Bob’s wife, Rita Marley, Marcia Griffiths and Judy Mowatt.  In 2003, “Rolling Stone” magazine ranked “Natty Dread” at number 181 on it’s list of the “500 Greatest Albums of all Time”.
