On July 30, 2021, “New West” label released “Native Sons”, the 17th Los Lobos album. It was recorded in 2021, at “Nest Recorders” in Los Angeles. and was produced by Steve Berlin. The album won a 2022 “Grammy Award” in the “Best Americana Album” category.

Nathan “Joey” Jordison

On July 26, 2021, Nathan Jonas “Joey” Jordison died aged 46. He was musician (drums, guitar), performed with Rob Zombie,  Metallica,  Korn, Ministry, Otep, Satyricon, Murderdolls, Scar the Martyr and Sinsaenum but was best known as founding member and drummer of Slipknot. In 2010, the readers of the magazine “Rhythm”, voted him “The Best drummer of the previous 25 years”.

Christone “Kingfish” Ingram: 662

On July 23, 2021, “Alligator” label released “662”, the second Christone “Kingfish” Ingram studio album. It was recorded in 2021, at “Ocean Way Studios” in Nashville, and was produced by Tom Hambridge. At the 2022 Grammys, “662” won the “Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album”.

Charles Edward Weiss

On July 20, 2021, Charles Edward Weiss died aged 76, He was singer and songwriter, known for his eclectic mix of blues, rock and roll and beat poetry. Weiss performed with Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Roger Miller, Dr. John and Tom Waits. Rickie Lee Jones dedicated him the song “Chuck E.’s In Love”, from her 1979 debut album.

On July 17, 2021, “RCA” label released “Hail Satin”, Dee Gees album (Foo Fighters side project). It was recorded in 2021, at “Studio 606” in San Fernando Valley, California, and was produced by Greg Kurstin.
