On August 31, 1964, “Motown” label released “Where Did Our Love Go”, the second Supremes (The) studio album. It was recorded December 1962 – Augudt 1964, at “Hitsville U.S.A.” in Detroit, and was produced by Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier, Smokey Robinson, Norman Whitfield and Robert Gordy.

Uriel Jones

On March 24, 2009, Uriel Jones died aged 74. He was musician (drums), session drummer for Motown’s in-house studio band, the Funk Brothers, during the 1960s and early 1970s. He has recorded with many famous artists including Marvin Gaye, Tammi Terrell, Diana Ross, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson & the Miracles, Stevie Wonder, Carl Dixon BandTraxs and Spider Webb.

On August 28, 1973, “Tamla” label released “Let’s Get It On”, the thirteenth Marvin Gaye studio album. It was recorded  June 1970 – July 1973, at the“Golden World Studio” in Detroit and at the “Hitsville West” in Los  Angeles, and was produced by Marvin Gaye and Ed Townsend. The album received positive critics worldwide and is regarded as one of the most influential and most significant soul and funk albums of all time.
